My name is Chryssy Joski and I’m here to say…
Sorry. Bad mom rapping. Let’s start over.
Life isn’t a straight line that takes you where you want to go in the fastest time. Or else I’d be polishing my Nobel prize for literature while writing my next great novel. Or at least working on my first great novel. Or at least working…
But there’s my point. I went to college straight out of high school and didn’t finish. I worked some Joe-jobs. I waited tables, bartended, worked as a bank teller, sales rep… etc. While I was meandering through life, I met my husband and we eventually decided to start a family. I knew then that I couldn’t keep waitressing the rest of my life. I needed something more for my family.
I went back to college after the birth of my daughter, whom we shall nickname Binnybeans. I was non-traditional. Go figure. Anyway, I graduated cum laude with a double major in Computer Science and English. Exactly one month later, I gave birth to my son, whom we’ll call Budgie. Since I knew I wouldn’t be able to start a job right away after graduation, I skipped out on the job fairs… and now he’s closing in on a year old and I’m still looking for work.
So I started this blog. In the past year, I have filled the time with getting my daughter ready for school in the fall, crafting up whatever I can, cooking (LOTS of cooking when you’re a stay-at-home mom!), and expanding my tech knowledge. I write flash fiction (super short stories) and creative non-fiction (I’ll write a post about that eventually).
I look forward to sharing with you. Because sharing is good and important and all that other stuff I tell my kids.
